Two year old or Nisai koi are typically 10 to 16 inches long depending on the amount of fish stocked into a pond and the growing season length and the amount of koi food that they receive. Blackwater Creek produces nearly 5000 nisai koi per year and most of them receive Blackwater Gold-n koi food to promote the fastest growth on both koi and butterfly koi.  The definition of nisai is "ni" or two and "sai" or year so nisai means literally two year old.
